social dining

What the hell is Social Dining? Isn't all dining social? Good question. Glad you asked. Had a long lunch with a few friends lately? Ditched the office and taken the client out for a bite instead? Ordered just one more bottle - and that's absolutely the last? Called to say you'll be another half hour-ish at the most? That's Social Dining, right there.

With the boom in social networking it seems we're connecting with friends more than ever before. But are we really? Has the ease with which we exchange digital chit-chat eaten into the quality time we enjoy sitting down and actually talking over a meal and a glass of wine? We think it probably has. Especially in the last couple of years, and the banking bugger-ups didn't help much either, frankly. We think everyone should be getting out a bit more. You see, we human beings are social creatures. We like to talk and we like to hear what people are up to. We like to joke, bullshit and speculate. To gossip, bitch and laugh. And we like to eat and drink well when we're doing it. That's why we are becoming the champions of Social Dining.

We want Social Dining to take on a life of its own and become a movement, a philosophy, a way of life. We believe it is vital to our relaxed way of life, our need to connect face to face and to stimulate creativity and interaction. We are putting in place a whole raft of initiatives to make Social Dining tangible and encourage people to partake. At Euro on a Friday afternoon Simon and his team prepare a whole Rotisserie Filipino-style Suckling Pig. We literally cook it on a spit outside the restaurant on the wharf. Around 4pm we carve it and serve it as a complimentary offer to all of our bar patrons just to stimulate the conversation and encourage them to kick back and relax into the evening.

Most nights, we serve curried popcorn to patrons or baskets of Garlic and Parmesan fries - again on the house - just to say thanks for coming. Across all of our restaurants we offer a complimentary pre-dinner house cocktail, so head in half an hour before your reservation and partake. And of course if you like our Facebook page or subscribe to our newsletter, we can keep you informed of our weekly specials and ideas to entice you into one of venues either for a leisurely business lunch or an dinner with friends or loved ones. Either way, we're pretty sure you'll like Social Dining and what it stands for.
